My how the time flies by it already December and 2012 is around the corner.

So here are my tips to make your December count.

Gingerbread houses, gingerbread men all just remind me of the holiday season and seam to fit perfectly with Lolita. There are so many tutorials out there for making actual gingerbread house to polymer clay ones. Here are a gingerbread house and a gingerbread man tutorials for making one of your own to wear during the holidays.

Ice skating is a fun activity for the winter season, some cities have indoor skating rinks, and some even set up outdoor ones for the season. It might be a great tradition to start with your fellow Lolitas.

This season is fun of fun decor and Christmas trees are the center of all celebrations. How about with salt dough ornaments. Here's a tutorial and some awesome salt dough ornaments to get inspiration.

Tis the season for gift giving, and as Lolita we need to make sure our gifts are wrapped with as much love and care as we dress ourselves, here are some beautiful gift wrapping ideas that might dazzle more than the present within.

And since we are on the subject of gifts why not hold a white elephant tea party, where you will exchange gifts with your local Lolitas. It is a great way to get together and show appreciation for the community and friendship.

November Projects

Falls is official underway in most of the northern hemisphere and this means many beautifully colored leaves, Last month I suggested a headdress out of these lovely leaves, this month I have fallen head over heels for this project: Autumn Leaf Roses

Apples are in season, and one of my favorite treats is apple pie, how about trying a new spin with this cute and delicious recipe: Apple Pie

Taking inspiration from the lovely Victoria Suzanne of Parfait Doll, I had tons of fun creating my header and many coordinates on polyvore, a great activity for lonely rainy days. You can follow my coordinate to : LINK!

As the season get colder we see a trend for luxurious accessories like fur. Many are not so happy with wearing actual fur but faux fur is the guilt free way to getting the look without harming furry cuties. Here's a great tutorial to try out.

Also beware shops are selling you real fur saying its faux fur: Video so make sure its faux make it yourself.

Its a little late this month cause school projects are taking so much of my time. Hope you find these fun and have a great month.

CNN article on Lolita

I've read through the article and it fairly decent. it tries to explain what the fashion is, it does make reference to Nabokov's Lolita but unless all lolitas gather and agree to change the name of the fashion (and I doubt that will permanently sever the link), there will always be reference to the book and it oversexualize character. My favorite quote from this article has to be:

"Some fans of the fashion believe that it is a direct commentary on the oversexualization of the female image, and by taking it in a new direction, lolitas challenge the image of what women are supposed to look like. Some believe it makes them less approachable, creating a wall of safety between themselves and men who might otherwise approach them. Some enjoy the idea of looking doll-like and simply enjoy the fashion for what it is, and like wearing it out in public gatherings."

I believe it does a great job describing why women choose to wear this fashion. The only thing I found missing was that the fashion has a bigger age range than the one they seem to imply. You should read the article and maybe comment if you prefer ( going back and reading through some of the comments they get nasty so beware ther eis so much ignorance in some of the comments its not worth it)

Welcome to October monthly tips:

Pumpkin patches are a great meet up location for this month, so gather a few of your fellow Lolis and head over to you local patch. Once you're all gathered exceptional pumpkins having a craving party. There are many tutorials for cute, ghoulish and elegant Jack-0-lanterns online.

Continuing on the meet up themes. How about gathering on Halloween for a theme party? A Macabre Alice and Wonderland party, assign everyone a character from Alice in Wonderland and have them give it a spooky spin.

Yummy! Pumpkin spice, pumpkin/apple pies, and candied apple are delicious treats that make an appearance this month as these fruits all come into season. Try your hand at some baking and candying on the 21st, Apple Day.

Incorporate Loli into your costume. Of course Lolita alone isn't a costume but dressing up as Alice or a Marionette. There's a host of ideas to add some loli to your Halloween costume. Victoria Suzanne , the amazing blogger of Parfait Doll has made two list of ideas list 1 and list 2 .
