January

January 2

January is almost upon us and that means 2012 is on its way as well.
Here are some tips to start out the new year!

January is Book Month which makes this a great month to curl up with a great book especially during a rain or snow storm. Miss Lumpy has great picks for what should be on a Lolita bookshelf. I will be also posting some of my favorites later on this month.

This month is also Thank You Month, which a fitting since last month Decembers there was gift giving frenzy, how about sending out hand written thank you cards to all the people that made a difference in your life in 2011. Hello Kitty has cute stationary, but any stationary store will have a wonderful section that is worthy of thanksgiving.

The beginning of the year is traditionally a time to bid farewell to old habits and renew ourselves through resolutions we make and hope to keep during the next year. A great way to make sure to keep a resolution is having a support group and as Lolis we have a support ready among our local Lolita community. So why not set up a New Years Resolution meet up. It is the perfect way to greet everyone and even come up with group resolutions: meeting up more, hosting more craft meets, swap meets, tea parties, etc.

January is also host to Chinese Lunar New Year, which falls on the 23. This incoming year is the year Dragon and in celebration why not have a group meet at a local Chinese New Year celebration, most major cities with Chinese communities have a grand celebration.
Or why not create your own party, any excuse to get the party started no?

Finally I want to wish you all a great New Year, and a fun New Years Eve. May 2012 be the best year of our lives and that every following year only get better. Love and Light.

I hope this is helpful to you if you have any more suggestion to better this blog please comment in the section below, I am happy to hear your feedback. Thank you!

December Style Tips

My how the time flies by it already December and 2012 is around the corner.

So here are my tips to make your December count.

Gingerbread houses, gingerbread men all just remind me of the holiday season and seam to fit perfectly with Lolita. There are so many tutorials out there for making actual gingerbread house to polymer clay ones. Here are a gingerbread house and a gingerbread man tutorials for making one of your own to wear during the holidays.

Ice skating is a fun activity for the winter season, some cities have indoor skating rinks, and some even set up outdoor ones for the season. It might be a great tradition to start with your fellow Lolitas.

This season is fun of fun decor and Christmas trees are the center of all celebrations. How about with salt dough ornaments. Here's a tutorial and some awesome salt dough ornaments to get inspiration.

Tis the season for gift giving, and as Lolita we need to make sure our gifts are wrapped with as much love and care as we dress ourselves, here are some beautiful gift wrapping ideas that might dazzle more than the present within.

And since we are on the subject of gifts why not hold a white elephant tea party, where you will exchange gifts with your local Lolitas. It is a great way to get together and show appreciation for the community and friendship.

Keep eye out for an announcement about the monthly style tips.
Happy Holidays and I wish you an awesome New Year.
